Finished Unity Circles- 7th Grade
Unity is a measure of how the elements of a page seem to fit together - to belong together. It's the final result in a composition when all the design elements work together giving the viewer a satisfying sense of belonging. You know unity has been achieved when all aspects of the design complement one another rather than compete for attention. The 7th graders nailed this concept!

Black Line Fish Design- 1st Grade
After discussing the 10 different lines we can find in art, 1st grade students created large fish with each line inside creating different sections. We drew this part with a black crayon. The lines create great patterns and add interest to the "artsy fish". The kids loved creating their own fish! Then we used watercolors for the bright colors. Here is a look at the beginning process.
