Henri Matisse is such a fun artist to learn about! His colorful still-life paintings are beautiful and his paper cut outs are so interesting. 2nd grade students created still-life collages based on the artist. A container, plant, 2 pieces of fruit, and cup or mug needed to be included. Inspired by the use of patterns and bright colors, the still-life collages look amazing. We painted paper, cut, glued, and used oil pastels. The final pieces look incredible!
