Pablo Picasso Inspired Self-Portraits- 2nd Grade
After discussing the abstract style of Pablo Picasso, students drew a self-portrait in a realistic style. Then they painted a background using bright colors and 4 different patterns. Once dried, they outlined their designs with a black oil pastel so it really stands out. Then the unexpected part happened! 2nd graders cut their self-portraits into 4 pieces. They placed the pieces of their face on the painted paper creating an abstract self-portrait inspired by Pablo Picasso! They are awesome and very unique! More images to follow.
