After discussing Positive Space (the shape of actual objects) and Negative Space (the shape around objects) 4th graders created tree branches using the dry brush technique. Dry brush is painting without water. It creates great texture and is great for layering colors. In this case, the technique helps the branches look like bark. The bright abstract colors, and beautiful thick lines make this artwork unique and beautiful as the fall season arrives. Check them out around the school!
