How do you pass out paint to your students?

Art teachers love to recycle and get the most out of every product- especially paint!  Painting is one of my favorite things to do with my students and they love it too.  Recently, I've been reevaluating how I distribute paint to each table in the art room.  Egg cartons have been very successful for me because each color has a place and you can close the lid to reuse for the week.  Also, we are being green using them.  Do you use egg cartons?  Soup cans?  Small containers with lids?  Magazines?  Any advice for not going through paint so fast?

I use ice cube trays and then when class is over, seal them in plastic bags.
